General description of the service
GeigerCars.de GmbH sells US cars and US motorcycles (mainly Indian Motorcycle), buys vehicles and runs a workshop for service, tuning and performance. On www.geigercars.de we present our vehicle stock, our workshop services, and conversions, parts and accessories.
How the service works
On the website you can:
- browse our current vehicle stock and send an enquiry about a vehicle,
- offer us your vehicle for sale,
- find out about workshop and performance services and get in touch about them,
- filter conversions, parts and accessories in our catalogue by make and model and request a quote for an item,
- apply for open positions.
No contracts are concluded and no payments are processed on the website. We answer every enquiry personally by email or phone; purchases, trade-ins and workshop orders are then arranged directly with us, in person in Munich if you prefer. The website is available in German and English.
How the website meets the requirements
When building the website we paid attention to the following, among other things:
- The language of every page is marked up, so screen readers read the text correctly.
- Pages are organised with a clear heading structure and navigation landmarks.
- Informative images have text alternatives; purely decorative images are skipped by assistive technology.
- Controls such as menus, filters, forms and expandable sections can be reached with the keyboard and show a visible focus indicator.
- Form fields are labelled; required fields and error messages are shown as text.
- Animations are reduced if you have enabled “reduce motion” in your operating system.
- The layout adapts to different screen sizes and can be zoomed in the browser.
- External content such as YouTube videos and Google Maps loads only after a click.
Compliance status
The website partially meets the requirements. The following content and features are not yet fully accessible:
- Vehicle stock and trade-in form: these sections are provided by a third-party vehicle system. We have only limited influence on its accessibility; in particular, keyboard and screen reader operation is not ensured throughout. The same applies to documents this system provides for individual vehicles.
- Background videos: the videos at the top of some pages and on the home page play automatically, silently and in a loop. They carry no additional information but currently cannot be paused.
- Moving content: the scrolling band of brand logos moves automatically and cannot be paused, except through the “reduce motion” system setting.
- YouTube videos: embedded videos come from our YouTube channel and do not all have subtitles.
- Google Maps: the embedded map is not fully accessible. Our address and a link for directions are also on the contact page.
- Skip link: a link to skip the navigation and go straight to the main content is still missing.
Planned measures
We are working on adding a way to pause the background videos and the logo band, adding a skip link to the main content, and publishing new YouTube videos with subtitles. We have raised the accessibility of the third-party vehicle system with its provider. If you need information from any of the sections above, we are happy to provide it by email or phone.
