Our history
The foundation and the path to specialization
- Founded by Karl Geiger, sales and service for Beetles, Renault R4, and 2CV models.
- Move to Trudering, expansion to Italian car brands and sports cars.
- 1983: Move to larger premises without business partners.
- 1984: Purchase and assembly of a Chevrolet Corvette, focus on US vehicles.
- Mid-80s: Demand for US vehicles and spare parts increases.
- 1986: Successful sale of a yellow Corvette, expansion of the customer base.
- Individual tuning options such as wider rims, chrome air filters.
- Number of employees grows to 25 specialists, Europe-wide attention.
Growth and innovation
- Portfolio expansion to include paint shop and tuning/development department.
- Presentation of impressive vehicles, such as the Corvette ZR1 with 550 hp.
- 1991: Introduction of the GMC Typhoon, the fastest SUV of its time.
- Annual import numbers rise to 150 vehicles.
- 1993: Complete renovation of the store to provide more presentation space.
- Service contracts with GM for Chevrolet, Cadillac, Hummer.
- Tuning versions for new Corvette and Mustang models.
- Europe-wide recognition in automotive magazines.
The Millennium
- 2004: Separation of the sales and workshop/tuning areas.
- 2005: ISO certification underlines high standards.
- Expansion of the portfolio to include stretch limousine rental.
- 2006: Great success with the event "Hummer World Run".
- Tuning a Ford GT to 711 hp causes a sensation.
- Recognition as the most successful lobster dealer in Europe.

- 2010: Purchase of the property, construction of a modern company headquarters.

Q&A about Karl and Geigercars
How did Karl get into American cars?
Karl moved from the Black Forest to Munich at the age of 18 and started his own business there, repairing car brands such as Renault, Citroën and Volkswagen in his small repair shop. A few years later he got his hands on his first US car - a 1971 Chevrolet Corvette, completely packed in boxes. Karl got the boxes and crates with the Corvette parts out of an underground car park. At first he didn't realise what a challenge this would be, as he didn't know how the Corvette parts fit together. After a while Karl managed to put the '71 Corvette together, until he realised that it was a very special model: an LT1, which at the time already had over 400 hp. This is how his passion for American cars was born.
How has Geiger Cars developed from its founding to today?
Since its foundation, Geigercars has become a leading supplier of US vehicles in Germany, from a small importer. To express its interest in American cars, the company expanded its brand portfolio and strengthened its media presence. Today, Geigercars is known for its wide selection of vehicles and outstanding customer service.
What does the future of Geigercars look like?
The automotive industry is constantly changing and we will continue to move with it. We are open to new innovations and creations, but our heart beats for US cars, V8 engines and motorcycles.
