DODGE Viper SRT T/A Rarity

The road-legal Dodge Viper SRT TA is aimed specifically at performance fans who unleash their cars on the more than 150 road race tracks in North America. TA stands for "Time Attack." With a curb weight of 1537 kg, it is the lightest model in Dodge's snake pit. Based on the Viper SRT, the TA Special Edition relies on an extremely low center of gravity, a 50:50 weight distribution, and, with enormous Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, the world's largest contact patch of a production car. A lighter, X-shaped carbon fiber strut replaces the standard aluminum strut under the hood and connects the four corners of the engine bay, contributing significantly to the Viper's torsional rigidity and strength. The improved aerodynamic package with a carbon fiber front splitter and rear spoiler increases downforce by a whopping 700 percent at 240 km/h. Behind the 20-inch Sidewinder II wheels of the Viper SRT special edition, multi-spoke 355 discs with two-piece Brembo calipers ensure befitting deceleration. Like the brake pads, they are designed to withstand high thermal stress and are anodized black with the Viper logo in orange. Under the hood of the special Dodge Viper SRT TA resides the hand-assembled front-mid engine. The 8.4-liter all-aluminum V10 overhead cam produces 640 hp and sends its 813 Nm of torque—the most powerful of any naturally aspirated car—to the 355 rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The interior is characterized by Kevlar-covered sport seats from Sabelt.
